The Queen, with The Duke of Edinburgh, made presentations to the 21 Round 8 Prize-winners at an honours ceremony at Buckingham Palace on 19 February 2010.  Afterwards The Queen and the Duke gave a reception for the Prize-winners’ representatives, including staff and students, and other guests in the Picture Gallery.  A DVD of the ceremony, including film taken during the reception, is available from British Ceremonial Arts Ltd at  www.bcafilm.co.uk.

On 18 February 2010, the evening before the Buckingham Palace presentations, the Trust held a national banquet at Guildhall to celebrate the achievements of the Prize-winning institutions.  Music was provided by students from The Royal College of Music (“Exhibition Brass) and Trinity Laban College (“Trinity Jazz Ensemble”), and by pipers from The London Regiment.   Fanfares were played by state trumpeters from The Band of The Blues and Royals.  The Scots Guards provided an escort detachment.  Hospitality students from further education colleges and from Thames Valley University took part in the presentation of the event.  Professor Richard C. Levin, President of Yale University and Frederick William Beinecke Professor of Economics, and Professor Sir Graeme Davies, Vice-Chancellor of the University of London, were the guest speakers.  Read speeches
