Weston College
Employment and education opportunities for those with special needs and disabilities
Weston College recognises that SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability) learners often require tailored and comprehensive support to enable them to better contribute to and share in the economy of the region and achieve greater personal fulfilment. With over 15 years of experience the College is widely recognised as an exemplar for its strong leadership in this field and more specifically for its ground-breaking work in autism.
The College provides purpose-built facilities for SEND learners and support from highly-qualified specialist staff through personalised programmes of study. It offers an empowerment model which promotes independence rather than dependency. The College has set up employment links with a wide range of local companies, as well as collaborating with the European Social Fund (ESF) which focuses on improving employment and education opportunities for young people across Europe.
Weston College’s dedicated SEND provision has delivered impact at a local, regional, national and international level. The College has created world class facilities delivering aspirational provision to over 1,000 SEND learners of which 92% have progressed to employment or further study.
